Improve Search Engine Ranking In Less Then 1 Month

June 28th, 2007

improve-search-engine-ranking.jpgAny site owners can Improve Search Engine Ranking in less then 1 month by following a few simple steps. Let’s look at how the search engine works. Most search engines have what we call “bots” or “crawlers” and these bots search through your site and read from a starting point which could be your home page or any other page of your site if you have designed it that way. As they crawl through the pages, they look at your algorithms. This means they look at the coding of your site and the words written on your pages including the meta tags and the actual content. This is a unique pattern that separates your site from others. The more unique the site is the better. After they have checked your site they set a flag of sorts to come back and check again in a month or so. Once they come back they read through again and look for any updates, if they find new pages or content they will come back again in less then a month. In other words, the more they visit and find new information the more they come back. Therefore, the more they visit the better results you get in the search engines.

Improve search engine ranking by understanding first that by having the search engines will constantly visit your site if you provide regular updates. This will help improve your rankings. Now, let’s look at ways the search engines decide to check your site in the first place:
1. Some search engines will never visit your site unless you submit your site to them directly. This is important to understand because you may need to do a one time submission to the search engines.
2. Placing links back to your site on another site is another way to get the search engines to visit your site. This process is called link building and you can do this in various ways. Keep in mind that by placing a link on other sites it may take anywhere from 1 week to over a month before this link is found. In some cases the link is never seen if the web site you are put on has a no-follow rule in the code.
3. Blogs are well known and have great potential for getting the attention of the search engines in a much quicker way then any other method known. Blogs are especially powerful tools if you have them loaded directly on your own site. When you post articles or information on your blog, it will send a notification to one or more blog servers. Depending on how you set up the blog, you can actually notify Google, Yahoo, MSN and other well known search engines. This gets your blogs linked on blog servers and gets the search engines very interested in your site. Most sites get more traffic results in less then one month.

If you want to see traffic flowing in quickly, use the blog technology. I recommend wordpress. Make sure to fill it up with a list of the best blog servers so every post you make it pings the major search engines correctly. You can do a search for Ping Servers or even specific searches like “google blog server” or “google ping server”.

When you add content to your blog make sure it is original and well written. Make sure to use keywords, and once in awhile, find something controversial to talk about. Doing these things will help you gain traffic in less then one month. Improve Search Engine Rankings with blogs and backlinks. What you are doing is causing the search engines to visit your site more often and you have a bit of power because you can decide when the search engines will visit your site.

There are some SEO theorists out there that will tell you if you are not in google it will take 90 days to get into their system. Use the advice in this article and watch this myth vanish before your very eyes. Make sure you have a tracking system of some sort with your host provider to see the results.

Ranked by Search Engine Use

June 26th, 2007

Search Engines are a internet based tool or application by which information or data on a particular subject can be accessed. Search engines open the doors to the virtual world. Some of the popular search engines include Yahoo!, Google, MSN, Metaspider, Lycos, Alta Vista, 800go, AskJeeves and HotBot. The proper use of search engines could lead to better search engine ranking.

These search engines are dedicated to queries of a general nature, but there are other search engines designed for technical and specialized subjects. All these search engines are ranked based on the number of visitors they get each day. Today, Google is the highest ranked search engine in the world.

Search engines also power the search capability of individual portals and web pages of companies and products. These companies work with the search engines and have mastered technology that optimizes the search for a particular word.

Every year, associations, especially those connected to the Information Technology sector, conduct surveys and publish search engine rankings. The parameters applied include the number of visitors, number of hits, number of web pages per search, number of repeated visitors and number of words searched.

Search engine rankings are published in the leading magazines and newspapers around the world. This increases the advertising revenue of the search engines as more and more companies and products opt to use the top ten search engines.

Search Engine Ranking

June 25th, 2007

Search Engine Ranking refers to the position assigned to popular search engines based on various factors like users, hits and applications. Search Engines are basically web-enabled applications that allows Internet users to access information relating to subjects of their choice.

The concept of search engine was evolved almost two decades ago when the Internet started gaining popularity. Some of the early entrants into the search engine segment include Yahoo!, MSN, Alta Vista, Lycos and the latest is Google. The search engine is an integral part of any Internet site or portal.

Search engines also power the searching capacity of other individual web sites. For instance, a newspaper portal. If a visitor wants to access archives or news reports of the previous editions, the search will be powered by the search engine technology deployed by a particular company.

The search engines are ranked depending on the number of visitors it receives on a daily basis. The search engines are ranked every year by a team of technology professionals in association with a firm active in similar domain or a media publication. Every year, the search engine ranking alters as companies change their business strategies to attract a larger number of visitors. There are hundreds of Internet sites dedicated to search engine ranking. Visit any of them for the latest updates.

Put Search Engine Optimized Content in Overdrive

June 22nd, 2007

SEO ContentWeb masters, search engine experts and site owners are all coming to the same conclusion about white had seo tactics. There was a time that we all remember when it was all too easy to be at the top of any search engine with just a few tricks and sadly enough those ineffective tricks are still being sold today. SEO Content if you haven’t heard is your key into this race of top positions.

There are several ways to put SEO Content into overdrive and allow you to speed right past the competition. Before you start campaigning or hiring a company make sure you first plan is to position content and lots of it.

Strategically placed content will help you not only move up but gain more clients as with your content can become and expert and trusted source in your industry. Here are some ideas to help you get into turbo mode.

Plan or re-plan out your site navigation to over sections of information that will accomplish a call to action, information about your industry & blogs. Some of most popular sites in the search engines have these elements in place and continue to get masses amount of traffic.

  • What this means is you have a section that talks about your company, explains your services or products and then has a call to action within those pages to bring in business.
  • Then you have a section that is full of information about the industry and can include how to choose the right products and services, what to watch out for so you are not taken advantage, history of the industry and many more ideas that I am sure will come to mind.
  • Then you make sure to position a blog on your site and I would suggest WordPress and make sure that it is designed to match your site for consistency. Make sure to use some of the latest SEO modules for wordpress and fill it up with a large list of blog servers for it to ping (if you are not familiar with these I suggest you do some research as this is one of your biggest guns on the net today).
  • With all these in place you can start getting attention quick from the search engines as these elements will cause them to view your site and give you better rankings because of well positioned seo content.
  • Start to write articles about your industry and submit them to as many article directories as you can. The more you do this, the more backlinks you build and more credibility you get from search engines
  • Post your unique articles to social bookmarking sites and build backlinks from those as well. Sites like Digg are great if you have the patience to rate other articles, make friends and post your content there.

This may seem like a lot of work, but the sites that are wanting natural results will build smart and use SEO Content to gain more exposure. Make sure that you balance out your keywords and content in such away that you still sound intelligent and not like some person trying to fool everyone. If you fill your site up with non sensible content you will only get traffic and no business.

The secrets of a good SEO content writer

June 22nd, 2007

content-writer.jpgA SEO content writer is one who writes the content for web pages in such a manner so as to ensure search engine optimization. This simply means that the articles written by the SEO content writer are written in such a manner so as to allow search engines to recognize, identify, and mark keywords easily. Once a search engine marks a page, that web page is automatically indexed within its system so that users of the net find these pages easily when they run a search query. The more keywords optimized per article, or simply put, the more keywords inserted into the articles does not necessarily guarantee success, and the content writer is aware of this. The keywords must be properly placed, and cannot simply saturate the article. This does take a certain amount of skill and ingenuity. If properly done, the content writer will optimize the page and make it easier for the search engine to find. This results in a higher ranking on the index system, so that your web page has a much greater chance of being displayed when the user searches for the proper key word.

Finding the right SEO content writer with the right techniques is the key to getting the most hits on your website. The biggest content writing secret however is the incorporation of the proper amount of keywords within the articles. This includes the inclusion of similar or alternate words with the similar meanings as the keywords (synonyms) so as to widen the target market and thus increase the number of hits obtained per website.

How web 2.0 affects SEO strategy

June 21st, 2007

spider-web.jpgWeb 2.0’ was originally created by O’Reilly in 2004. Its properties such as interactive communities and hosted services assisting in collaboration and sharing among user make it a forerunner in the second generation web usage.

Web 2.0 is only upgraded and restructured to refresh the earlier version and much of its machinery is unchanged.

Visitor tastes have become more refined over time, so online purchasing, eccentric applets and even breaking news is now passé. Web 2.0 platforms offer features that actively engage the user in an attempt to make a new customer a repeat customer.

Web 2.0 content management systems use blogs and wikis that are search engine optimized and are thus much preferred to outdated forums and comments. Rooted in a semantic markup and extensively interlinked, the web 2.0 possesses rich text and is frequently updated.

Interactive elements in web 2.0 might be inhospitable to search engine spiders. For improved performance leverage XML, RSS and syndicate services, as they are search engine friendly. RSS feed with audio and video components make a podcast visible to search engine spiders.

SEO strategy has evolved to meet the web 2.0 challenges by providing tactics to expose flash, AJAX, audio and video transcripts, as many search engines can’t quite process these elements without assistance.

Search Engine Visibility in Jeopardy because of Google’s Lack of Sensibility

June 18th, 2007

It is the year 2007, and we have truly entered an era of revolution; a technological revolution that is. That term has been overused to say the least, but it is nonetheless true. Unlike the Baby Boomers and their social revolution of the 1960’s, we are wired, switched on, plugged in, turned on and tuned in, and it has been technological revolution that has made all this possible. We can be better students, workers and employers because technology allows us to stretch our creativity far beyond what our predecessors ever imagined. Because of this, you would think that as a human race, we would be more evolved, smarter, and productive. More importantly, as a human race we must have obtained a higher degree of common sense than all the generations that have preceded us. We would like to think so, but I am convinced that even though we have the added and remarkable benefit of advanced technology, we have lost a great deal of our common sense. This fact has been proven by the actions of people and companies all around the globe.

Now, based on the title of this article you already know where I am going, but the slam is not just against Google, it is an overall observation. Since the boom of the Internet, people have wetted their appetites with thoughts of global marketing. Google has certainly cashed in on this. Some have actually estimated its worth to exceed $150 billion dollars. Let me say that again, $150 billion! The internet boom can be likened to the California Gold Rush. Companies and entrepreneurs have scrambled to tap into the global market, and Search Engine Visibility has been on the forefront of their hearts and minds. It is simply phenomenal to think that I can sell my idea to the whole world. My mind starts racing along at breakneck speed and in my heart I realize I can take over the world!

Colossal search engines have emerged like Google, Yahoo, ExactSeek, MSN, AOL and many others who provide portals capable of filtering out websites so users can search and find exactly what they are looking for. As for the website owners, they desire the impossible …. the coveted “first page” of the search engine. For those who have really done their research, it is obvious that the true “Money Making Spot” is on the hallowed grounds of Google’s first page.

Some years back it was really simple to get top positions in Google and other search engines. search engine visibility was simply attained by a few tricks and manipulations that went right past the Google bots. Well, that didn’t last, and Google wised up and changed the whole nature of its search engine. Thousands of sites lost position and there was panic and uproar on par with the stock market crash of 1929. Then as time moved on, we learned that Google just wanted to make its search engine more user friendly and full of quality search results to make the end user happy. Fair enough. We understood Google’s perspective, and in response, many people changed their tactics and used blogging and link building campaigns in addition to quality content to bolster their sites. This opened up tremendous business opportunities for web masters as those new strategies created a whole new set of services designed to meet Google’s requirements. It was the internet at its best: the creation of commerce through technology and ingenuity. Unfortunately, many web masters didn’t follow these guidelines, and instead they offered “Pre Google Florida Update” techniques. In my research, I have found pitifully few companies that offer legitimate SEO tactics.

Currently, there are those who post their sites to directories and this has proved to be a reliable and stable technique. These directory sites mostly come at a price and the cost for the service can vary greatly. Some are priced moderately around $10 to $20, while others can gouge the customer of upwards of hundreds of dollars. The fact of the mater is that these are people working to make a better way to receive one-way links, and they have to physically manage their sites in order maintain quality link directories. I had previously written in a few forums that some of these prices were too high, and that webmasters should not be greedy, but consistent. It may not be a popular idea, but I don’t think any directory site should charge more then $15.00 for a listing. Think about the economics. Higher prices drive the consumer away, but by offering an affordable service, you will attract customers on a mass scale and make even more money than you would have previously.

In this regard, Google crushed search engine visibility when they announced that they were going to punish webmasters by posting negative results to sites that pay for links on other sites. They have even given a way to “tattle tell” on these site owners. Maybe it is just me, but I simply do not trust anyone who turns to the secret police for help. That is just a little too much power for one company. Maybe Google wants to teach the World Wide Web a lesson and get the word out that they will not stand for those greedy people who like to take advantage of search engines. Hmm, that is an interesting position considering it is coming from a company valued at $150 billion dollars. I suppose they have enough power now to decide how much the rest of us should make. They own the internet after all. Well Google, if you are going to teach such a great lesson, then you must follow your own guidelines. Hypocrisy will not be tolerated! Should we start reporting sites using Adwords? I mean, heck… they are paying Google to get their links not only on their own search engines but on thousands of sites that webmasters have strategically placed Google ads on. Every time someone clicks those ads, someone makes money. What it comes down to is simple extortion on Google’s part. The only way to succeed is to bow down and kiss the ring of the Godfather, and pray that he does not whack you the moment you turn around.

Search around and look at the trends. Thanks to Google, search engine visibility has dropped for many sites yet again, especially directory sites. Has its PPC dropped? I don’t think so! I think we need to make a stand against this. Though I love Google because its search engine brings Great Results for us, they are making power moves by these statements and now 100’s of directory sites are sitting dead in the water, while leaving high ranking sites that no one wants to list out of fear of Google’s reprisals. This is wrong, I think Google needs to re-think this method.

So my appeal is to Google, remember your humble beginnings at Stanford University, and stop this nonsense. You used to be a fun kid, now you’re just the bully of the playground who is intent on stealing the ball. Stop making your great company look like web terrorist who strips money away from hard working business people. If you want to make a point, why don’t you punish the sites actually guilty of taking advantage of the consumer? Leave the rest of us small fish alone. We are only trying to make a living. As for reporting abuse, should we stoop so low as to become web snitches? What if we take this so literal that we all start complaining against sites that use your own adwords? It is exactly the same line of thinking. I am just using good common sense here. Google, you have the power to make your point. You also have the ability to help site owners from being ripped off. Use your power judiciously instead of what you are doing now.

Now, to those site owners who are not sure what to do about gaining search engine visibility without the benefit of directory sites, listen up! This is a must “need to know” strategy to apply until Google changes its ways. Start writing content for your sites and add a blog as well. Make statements about your industry and convince readers that you know what you are doing. Write articles and submit them all over the web as this can’t hurt you in the search engines. My point is content, content, content!!! Google still loves content and still gives great rankings for this. So while we wait for the Godfather to make his next decree, try this strategy. Google can’t outlaw content, especially original content. In fact, I will gain rankings in Google from this article alone!
